Gardening in a Dorm

On the first day of spring I planted daisies and sunflowers. In my dorm room.

Target had these adorable little flower-growing kits in their dollar section, so I got a couple!

Here are some pictures of their progress over the past week:

Just after a few days

No daisies yet

Here they come!

This is what they looked like today!

It's nice to have this little bit of horticultural wonder on my desk

Origami Stars

Today, I introduced Sarah to the best website in the world: stumbleupon.com

We "stumbled" all afternoon and she found a site that showed us how to make origami stars. And Sarah, Emily, and I have been making stars all afternoon!

We think they're pretty great.

The paper I used (including a map of France)

We even wrote notes inside of them!

Sarah working diligently

Reach for the stars, everyone ;)

Spring Break...Finally!

Spring break is finally here and here I sit in snowy Broken Bow, Nebraska. My room mate of three years and best friend, Sarah, is from "Bow" (as they call it) and I finally got the chance to come visit her and her family.

We have had SO much fun. We've done a lot of sleeping, watching movies, playing Dutch Blitz (which became a quick favorite of Matthew's, Sarah's little brother), eating, and, of course, seeing the sites of Broken Bow. Surprisingly, there are a lot!

Here are some pictures of what we have done so far:

First, we pitched in to help keep Broken Bow clean

We paid a visit to Prairie Grounds and had tea

We got our exercise at the Custer County Court House

We went on a walk and saw some of Broken Bows lovely arcitechture

I, of course, waved 'Hello' to the prairie

We stopped by the theater to see what was playing

We took some pictures in this rustic little corner

Emily sure is a creeper

We saw the lovely Pracht house

Oh, and then Andrew and I shot the moon while playing pitch...no big deal.

I'm enjoying my break a great deal. Today we went to see "The King's Speech," which was absolutely amazing! I loved it. And I think we're making brownies later...what more could I ask for?!
