Doodle of the Week

Every Tuesday and Thursday I am forced to endure two straight hours of Liam Purdon's views on Shakespeare. His class is very interesting, don't get me wrong, and Purdon is hilariously entertaining but one can only take so much Shakespeare!

It is because of this boredom that I have become a constant doodler. The margins of my notebook pages are completely covered with random little pictures that pop into my head and get transferred to paper. I am very proud of most of my doodles and have therefore decided

to share them with all of you on a weekly basis. I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy creating them.

My first doodle is a rendition of the play "The Taming of the Shrew:"

I think it depicts the "plays with in a play" quite well. First, we have the audience (who I've named Roister Doister...don't know why). Then, we have Sly, the slob who is being tricked into thinking he's a Lord. During the trickery, Sly watches a play which brings us to Kate and Petruchio. Kate's ticked...Petruchio's in love. Finally, we have everyone else (Kate's little sister, Bianca included) who is watching Kate and Petruchio fall in love.

So there you have it. Moving on...

Over the summer I read a lot from Psalms. It was uplifting and God taught me so much about relying on Him. I grew to love Psalm 12:6-7 which says:

The words of the Lord are pure words,

Like silver tried in a furnace of earth,

Purified seven times.

You shall keep them, O Lord,

You shall preserve them from this generation

forever.

Our God's promises are perfect and pure. When He promises something, He'll KEEP IT! It just gives us all the more reason to surrender our lives to Him, trust Him, and become fully devoted followers of Him.
