DIY Mason Jar Picture Holder

One of my goals for the summer is to make something every week. I found this super easy idea using mason jars (which I love).



What you will need:

• Mason Jar
• Bobby Pin
• Vintage Button
• Hot Glue Gun

Step 1: Glue your button onto the bobby pin

Step 2: Glue the bobby pin onto the mason jar

Step 3: Fill the mason jar with flowers!

Step 4: Find an old family photo (the top picture is my dad when he was little) or a note!

And that's it! SUPER easy!

Oh yeah, if you didn't know, I just got back from two weeks in Brazil! It was an amazing trip with some of my best friends and there is no way I could possibly sum everything up in one blog post. I posted TONS of pictures on facebook but here's one of my favorites:

I think this image is so powerful. Jesus stands before us with open arms. He's given us an amazing gift that's ours for FREE...all we have to do is believe in Him. Run into those arms and you will find peace, love, forgiveness, and eternal life.

I'm so excited for the summer ahead of me! I'm working at the Riverhouse again (so come visit!) and I'm also working at Kids of the King day camp which I'm LOVING!  I've set some blogging goals for the summer as well...we'll see how that goes!

List Maker

I'm taking a break from my mountain of homework. So far, I've managed to stay on top of the mountain which keeps the stress level pretty low. Would you like to know HOW I managed to stay on top of the mountain? Ok, I'll tell you.

I make lists...lots of them. Here, you can see my master list, my lists of due dates, my week-by-week lists, and my day-by-day lists.

This is what I have to do to stay organized and remember everything I have to do.

If you're ever feeling stressed, make a list. It really does work!


In other news, my little brother is graduating from high school this weekend! Since I love lists so much, here's a list I've made about Bri-Guy:

1. I can't believe he's old enough to be out of high school!
2. I'm so proud of the way he is letting Jesus Christ live through him everyday!
3. I love when he sits in his room and plays his guitar. There's nothing like being in a quiet house with a cup of coffee, listening to live acoustic guitar. 
4. I admire his ability to love everyone.
5. I respect him for having the desire to do God's work in Haiti
6. I love how absolutely HILARIOUS he is!!!
7. He has remarkable talent in just about everything he does (including picking out tattoos)!
8. He reminds me of an old man. Maybe it's his love for all things outdoors--fishing, camping, skiing, beard growing (someday)--or maybe it's the fact that he talks like my grandpa, smells like my grandpa, builds things like my grandpa, and enjoys smoking an occasional stoagie (like my grandpa).
9. I love his face when I TRY to wake him up on Sunday mornings for church--even though I hate being late every Sunday, the face is worth it (almost). 
10. I love him so much. Not only has he taught me so much about my relationship with Jesus, but he has shown me that God can work miraculously in people's lives. I'm so blessed to have Brian Wolfe in my life.

So sorry...

For those of you who ever had to endure the end of your Junior year in college, I'm sorry. It's been so busy around here...and regretfully I have not been able to blog much in the last few weeks.


I have two projects that I'm working on for my summer full of blogging, and I'm so excited about them. My grandma has told me that it is always good to have something to look forward to. That is SO true. It makes life as a Junior in college just a little bit easier if I know that something grand is waiting for me when I'm done.

Here they are:

1. I want to make at least one hand made project every week. For those of you who do not know what stumbleupon.com is, stop reading right now and go check it out. For those of you who DO know what it is, I'm sure you understand how addicting it can be. I have stumbled upon so many inspirational blogs and ideas of things to make, reuse, and "upcycle." I also hope to start up an Etsy store and sell some of my handmade goods online. I'll keep you posted.
2. I am working on my "Reading Life Story." This is an idea that I received from my teaching inspiration Esme Raji Codell. She came to Doane and spoke about her Reading Life Story which was a list of books that she read as a kid and how they had an impact on her life. I absolutely LOVE this concept and I can't wait to compile a list of books that have changed my life.

So that's the plan.

In other news, I met my cooperating teacher for student teaching last week. She's amazing and I can't wait until next semester and all of the challenges it will bring. After meeting her, however, I feel as though student teaching is staring me in the face. And that is a liiiiittle scary. Here's a picture of my classroom:

I have a map of France hanging next to my coffee pot in my room...but it says "Rance" instead of "France" because I cut the F off when I was making my origami stars! Oh well...
