M-A-I-R-I-N

Hello everyone! It's been quite a few days since I've last posted and I can't say it's because I've been super busy. In fact, I have enjoyed three full weeks of doing absolutely nothing but crocheting, reading, playing Dutch Blitz with my brother and his friends, and spending time in the Wolfe house.

I have completed several crochet projects however, I forgot my camera at school so I will have to post about those later. I'm so excited about all of them

If you know me well or even if you don't, you may know that some people have issues pronouncing my name. Let me make it easy for you: it rhymes with Karen, Aaron, Sharon, and Darren. It starts with an "emmmmmm" sound, then the word AIR and then the word IN. Hopefully you now know how to say my name.

Here's a small list of some of the names I have been called throughout the course of my life:

Marvin
Marian
Barren
Matrix
Margarita
Marney
Mary
Malrin
Maren
Marilyn
Mairam

None of those are my name, so please don't call me by any of them.

I've grown to absolutely love my name over the years. It's Irish and means "bitter," much like the name "Mara" that Naomi chooses to call herself after the death of her husband and two sons in the story of Ruth. Not the greatest name meaning, but that's where my middle name comes in: Grace. Because of God's grace, we don't have to be bitter, we can allow Him to change us. If we accept Jesus to be the King of our lives, then the world's bitterness doesn't have to creep into our hearts. We are made clean and new by grace.

I don't know if my parents put my first and middle name together intentionally, but I have found it to be a picture and a reminder for me to give thanks for all God has done in my life.

grace and peace,
Mair
