Hello Readers--
In the Wolfe kitchen, there lies a pantry with an expansive, blank surface area. When we were little we would cover this pantry with snowflakes in the winter, hearts in February, and all kinds of art in the months between.
Here's a snapshot of the blank canvas:
As I was sitting at the kitchen table yesterday, staring at the blank wall, my mom and I decided to, once again, create a blizzard of white snowflakes!
Here's what we created:
Much better!

Dipped, Covered, and Coated
At the Wolfe house, Christmas goodies usually consist of dipping something in almond bark. This is mostly because things dipped, covered, and coated in almond bark are amazing...and also because it's super easy!
Here's something new my mom and I tried this year:
Chopped pecans
Craisins
White almond bark
Mix half of the pecans and craisins in the melted almond bark and sprinkle the other half on top! Once you've done that, stick it outside to cool.

Then break it apart
and stick it in a fancy bowl!
It is pretty tasty...and it even looks Christmasy!

Cozy Warm
Keeping my cup cozy warm. This project was super easy...I found the idea on Pinterest (surprise, surprise). There was no pattern, so this one is a little rough:
Can you tell that I haven't had any time to craft until now??? I'm going nuts!

Clothespin Parade
My cooperating teacher asked me to make some clothespin dolls for her daughter for Christmas. Her daughter, who is five, loves to make any little item into people. She will play house with crayons, hand sanitizer bottles, and highlighters. So Kelly thought she would love to have some actual little people!
I made 12...here they are:

Winter Projects
I found this picture somewhere online a while ago. It's pretty much the epitome of me/my dream. I love everything about it.
Moving on, my mom found a great idea on Pinterest for a scarf. We started making them and now I can't stop! They're the perfect Christmas gifts, so if you want one, I'm selling them for $10!
They come in all sorts of wonderful colors with a vintage button!
I also made a Kindle/Nook case for my cooperating teacher's present. I was so proud of it and I'm definitely going to be making one for myself!
That's all I've been doing so far!

Hello, again!
As many of you know, I have been student teaching for the past semester and I haven't had time to do anything else! Blogging was the first activity to be put on the back burner. But...I'M BACK!
My experience at Tri County was unbelievable! There aren't enough positive adjectives to express the joys I experienced teaching those wonderful students. And the students really were the best part! After this semester, I know I want to be a teacher. I have no doubt in my mind that I want to be a teacher! I loved every second of it (almost)! I also had the opportunity to work with the fall play and One Act-- which were totally different experiences, but good nonetheless!
I tried to narrow down my time at Tri County into a few pictures...there are more on my facebook page.

The One Act, in their costumes, before our state performance
My first period of 8th graders, they're a small bunch, but we had so much fun together! They were always so eager to learn and very patient with me...they were the first class of the day, so I wasn't always at the top of my game!
My second period of 8th graders. Quite a bit more...rambunctious, but they were also a blast. Apart from the fact that every time I gave them an assignment grumbling started, they were awesome!
My senior boys! I had these guys for a few weeks during their War Literature unit. They were hilarious. Not only did two of these gents change my tire, but mostly all of them never ceased to flatter me. And of course they had to put up with me telling them about my super weird dreams!
This is Ryan. He's the first student to ever ask me out on a date...continuously...every single day. I also witnessed him fill an entire Gatorade bottle with spit in order to cut weight for wrestling. Seriously the grossest thing I have EVER seen, but you have to love him!
Ryan might be the first one to ask me on a date, but Taylor was the first one to ask me to marry him. As he often quoted from The Notebook, "If you're a bird, I'm a bird."
These two, Sam and Kyle, are the tallest people I know. Obviously! I seriously love these two boys. Kyle is the nicest, most genuine student I've ever had. And Sambo and I bonded while I did his make-up for One-Act. They are two great students and their character is as tall as they are! :)
Almost all of the senior class. This is Senior English I. I had a great time getting to know all of them. I can't wait to see what this group of students does as they move onto college and careers next year.
My second class of Juniors (I forgot to get a picture with the first class). They are wild and absolutely hilarious. They kept me laughing everyday! Earlier in the semester, they had to do a book report that was Halloween themed and 3D. A student named Travis showed up with a paper grocery sack full of pictures of potatoes. On each potato, he wrote things about the book (characters, plot, setting, etc.). He did a great job presenting, but when he was done I asked him why in the heck he used potatoes for his Halloween theme! He said that Charlie Brown got potatoes in his candy bag one year. So. Funny.
Then there's Senior English II. This was the first class that I was given complete control of. I feel as though I have a special bond with this class because of that. I will miss them each SO much. (Travis, Austin, Doug, Bryce, Jakey, Austin N., Taylor, Shelby, and Pietro)
Krystal--not only did she make us all little cheesecakes today, but she also seemed to catch me doing really embarrassing things! (pouring Dr. Pepper down the side of my face, adjusting my tights, and uh..."picking" my nose with my hankie) You're the best, Krystal! I know you're reading this because you're SO obsessed with my blog! :)
So there it is! I am so blessed that God has given me such an amazing experience to start off my career as a teacher. I have learned so much about education, the importance of organization and sleep, and the amazing, rewarding feeling of being loved by an extremely bright group of students. I am so thankful to have been apart of Tri County this semester!
It's going to be so strange not to be called Miss Wolfe everyday.

Dear, Old Gus
For those of you who know me well, you probably know that my car is named Gus.
His full name is Guster, and I believe the name suits him perfectly. His name has made him more lovable...and if I hadn't named him, I probably would have "accidentally" pushed him off a cliff. Suffice it to say, Gus is old and with that comes "complications."
Here's a small list of Gus's ailments:
Thanks, Gus.
I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful, rainy Sunday.

Here's a small list of Gus's ailments:
- His hood won't close all the way...actually that was my fault due to this:
- Three out of his four door handles are broken. The two in the back only open from the inside, and the driver's side door handle was ripped off by my super human strength. This is how my handy-man father fixed it. (green is my favorite color)
- Gus got a flat tire last Thursday while I was at school. So, Tri County's maintenance man, Steve, tried to fill it up...that didn't work, so I drove the four miles to DeWitt, NE and stopped by the Coop. My instructions were to find "Mike" and tell him "Steve" sent me.
- There is a small space between Gus's fancy CD player and the rest of the radio. My dear sister thought this space was the CD slot. Now, my favorite Dave Barnes CD is left in there to rattle annoyingly when Gus reaches top speeds.
- Speaking of top speeds: Gus's speedometer only goes to 85.
- Gus has freaky seat belts. They look like this:
people open the doors and stand there confused and panicked until I tell them to just get in as if it weren't there. Don't forget to put on the lap strap!
- Until he got his muffler fixed, you could hear Old Gus coming from five miles away.
- I've had to jump start Gus three times.
- At one point, Gus wouldn't stop driving in reverse. That lasted about a week.
- When I put him in park, I have to push the gear shifter all the way until it clicks or else the keys won't come out
- As much as I complain, I would be very sad if I had a different car. Gus and I have had some good times together!
Thanks, Gus.
I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful, rainy Sunday.
grace and peace,
Mair
